✨ A happy nervous system starts with the right fuel—skip the junk and soothe your stress with smarter choices! 💡

Explore Utthāna - the art of rising upward ✨

This week, we’re exploring expansion, uplift, and that gentle feeling of rising into yourself.

Sitting cross-legged on this big barrel in the middle of Malibu (because why not 😄), after settling in, I felt that sweet moment where the body softens… and the breath creates just enough space for you to rise a little taller inside. It made me think of Utthana.

No forcing or pushing, just allowing. A quiet, steady opening from the inside out.

This intention is what I’m bringing Saturday to your Gentle Yoga & Breathwork practice this week:
opening without overwhelm,
expanding with ease,
and letting your nervous system lead the way.

As you move through your week, notice the small places where Utthāna meets you. It could be a soft inhale, a tiny lift, a moment of saying yes to more.

💭 If you’ve ever wondered why your body feels on edge, tired, foggy, or unable to truly relax, know this:

Your nervous system isn’t broken. It’s been protecting you.

Anxiety, chronic stress, feeling wired but exhausted, even moments of panic or disconnection are often signs that your system learned it was safer to stay alert than to soften. So it adapted. It kept you going. And over time, that can feel exhausting.

What your body is asking for now isn’t force or fixing. It’s safety.

Safety that comes gently through breath, nourishment, movement, grounding, and steady connection. Not all at once. Just enough, often enough, for your system to realize it doesn’t have to work so hard anymore.

Healing here isn’t about trying to calm down. It’s about teaching your body that it’s okay to rest again.

Compassion and gentleness toward yourself and others.

You might notice Nova sitting beside me in this photo.. Dogs are such beautiful teachers of karunā. Present, attuned, and offering quiet companionship without needing anything in return. Just being together. Just feeling safe.

That’s the energy I invite into our Gentle Yoga & Breathwork practice. A space where your nervous system can soften, your breath can deepen, and you can meet yourself with the same kindness you’d offer someone you love.

In Sanskrit, karunā means the kind of compassion that starts with yourself.

Not fixing.
Not pushing.
Just meeting yourself exactly where you are, with softness and care.

That’s the energy I hold when I guide Gentle Yoga & Breathwork. A space to slow down, place a hand on your heart, and remember that your body doesn’t need force to heal.. it needs safety, presence, and kindness.
