The teachable moment is not when either you as a parent or your child/teen is in a heightened emotional state. The nervous system must be calm to be able to listen, reason, and learn! If your child is dysregulated, no not confront or attack the behavior in that moment!

As a practitioner of behavior change, Dr Adams provides behavioral and mental health therapy for adults and children at Meier Clinic in Laguna Hills, California. He specializes in working with individuals with depression and anxiety as well as general life issues. He also specializes in Christian-based counseling. Dr. Adams also is an experienced clinician in working with children and teens. In his spare time, he volunteers and does trainings for orphanages in Vietnam and Mexico.
