PATIENT OF THE MONTH
Linda wanted to take back the control her back pain had on her life. She came into the office on a walker and left on her Harley.
"I never thought in a million years that I would be using a walker at age 55! But here I was, unable to get up off the couch & use the restroom without it, or anything else for that matter! I've been very active my whole life, hiking, dirt bikes, street bikes, snow skiing, etc. I was injured from a fall in my early 20's. Then had a few additional accidents through the years. My neck & back gradually got worse & worse. Last year my L3-L4 had a 3 mm disc bulge, and my L4-L5 had a 4 mm disc bulge. This year my disc herniated and was over 5 mm bulge. I had to take a 5 month medical from work last year and not even a year later I was on another one. Things weren't looking good for me. The Dr. said he wanted to give me an epidural shot in my disc & shrink it like a raisin, and if that didn't work.....surgery! Shrinking it like a raisin kept running through my mind, that didn't sound like a good option. I just pictured bone on bone. So we started looking for different options, a lot of them said minimally invasive. Bottom line they're cutting you enough that it takes months to recover. I don't know about you, but any kind of surgery on my back scares the heck out of me! I would try anything before I did that. Then my husband heard Dr. Campbell on the radio, what a God sent that was! Unlike some who wanted $250-$500 for a consultation, his was free! He just wants to heal people! Before I came to him I had been diagnosed with 2 bulging disc, 1 herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, pinched nerve, sciatica, scoliosis & arthritis of the spine. During my 1st treatment I was feeling relief. As time went on my husband said I was walking straighter & noticed I wasn't complaining as much about pain. Very quickly into it my neck didn't hurt at all! It was so weird not to feel it anymore, I've lived with chronic pain for years. My back was also feeling better & better as time went on. At the end of my treatments I had no pain at all! Zero pain! And its different than all my other treatments and past recoveries, my spine feels different, stronger. I've noticed the little things that no loner give me pain, like sweeping, mopping , sitting for long periods, reading, not having to hold on to the counter to load my dishwasher. NO MORE PAIN! I'm riding my Harley and hiking with my dogs again, I have my life back.... but better than ever!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Campbell and staff! Love you guys" - Linda G
