*Residential Detox Technicians should have:
Detox experience in a residential setting preferred.
Knowledge of COWS and CIWA assessments and detox medication procedures.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
Knowledge of recovery and 12 step programs.
A desire to help people change their lives; Excellent communication skills.
The ability to take direction and follow through will all assigned tasks.
Willingness to learn and grow both personally and professionally.
Have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.





Job Description: Behavioral Health Technician

Overview: The BHT is responsible for the complete care and well-being of the clients while they are receiving services at the facility. The BHT will maintain open lines of communication with staff, attending clinicians and physicians, and clients and families.

Accountability: Reports directly to the Program Supervisor.

Duties:

Complete intake during evening and weekend hours as needed

Provides an ongoing safe environment for staff and clients

Provides a written daily report on hourly rounds

Provides supervision of self-administration medication program as needed

Oversees residential clients

Transports clients to and from appointments, meetings, facilities, outings, and other pre-authorized destinations when applicable (Utilizes company transportation)

Instructs and confirms the company's rules and regulations to new admissions (Orientates clients)

Act as co-facilitator during group substance abuse sessions

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff

Attends administrative meetings

Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in work environment

Assist with upkeep of facility

Completes and forwards any Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to Program Supervisors and Directors

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One to two years in a similar position encouraged. CPR/First Aid Certification. Valid State Driver's License. Should be proficient in a variety of office hardware (copy machine, computer, fax machine, etc.) and software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases).



Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Must be comfortable driving one or more clients and able to navigate in the outside world.
