Thank you Kristine’s Creative Kitchen for sharing your delicious recipes, made from our Pancake and Khichari mix

Savory Pancakes, Veggie Khichari with Green Bean Crisps. This wonderfully delicious combo made easier by the pancake and khichari mixes from Shakti Natural Nutrition. My dear friend Manasi Bhagwat, the chef and owner of Shakti Natural Nutrition , roasts coarsely ground chickpea flour, a little rice flour and spices for her pancake mix and toasts mung beans, rice and carefully selected spices for her khichari blend. Both mixes are high in protein, gluten-free and plant-based.
Manasi suggested I ferment the pancake dough overnight or for several hours. While making my morning tea, I stirred the mix with water in a med. bowl and then made the pancakes at lunchtime. The extra wait time well worth the end results. All of the fragrant spices bloomed beautifully together and produced light pancakes with a well-rounded warm spice kick and a delightful tang.
I cooked the khichari mix according to package directions, incorporating grated carrots, sliced spring onion rounds and a bunch of chopped parsley before simmering. Topped at table with chopped cilantro and lime wedges. I will be posting soon the recipe for my spicy green bean crisps. If you are interested in trying the pancakes or khichari mixes and live in the SoCal area, you can find their mixes at local farmers markets. They are also now available nationwide through https://www.simpleshakti.com.

Shoulder-to-shoulder
As we approach the longest, darkest of nights (for northern hemisphere), heaven shows us sign that family and friends will soon be back together, be able to enjoy social life and be able to hug each other once again!

Planet Saturn and Jupiter conjunction can be seen in southwest direction, an hour after sunset.

Three pillars of Life

Based on Ayurvedic traditions
food, deep sound sleep and peaceful mind are considered the most important pillars of healthy life.

There is some awareness about healthy foods.

So far sleep is concerned, unfortunately our modern lifestyle is not having enough time to accommodate 7-8 hours of deep sound sleep. This is a natural, free detox; helps us with our body and mind health.

Third pillar is the mind (relationships, spirituality and ultimate Moksha), this is the most difficult and requires lot of practice and efforts!

But easy to start with first two food and sleep!

Getting ready for holidays

While making cookies and checking wardrobe for jolly dresses👗, here are few tips to take care of yourself:

Abhyanga (oil massage) for relaxation. Apply oil (unrefined coconut/sesame/olive) to head, feet especially sole and few drops in ears. Few times a week, half an hour prior to morning bath. This only takes 5-10 mins.

Limit the use of alcohol as it lowers immunity.

Have fun - happiness brings health!

Our Story

Our bars are handmade, fresh every week, because we don’t want you to eat months old, stale food. We add no preservatives because what good is “preserved food” that has lost its Prana - its life force? We instead use ingredients that have the natural ability to stay fresh, for long. We add no Sugars, no flavors and no additives because, only that which grow in nature is food, everything else is a chemical masquerading as food.

Shakti is run by Manasi and Hrishi (wife and husband), who come from families with long lineage in Ayurveda. In that tradition it is sinful to put earning ahead of human health. We think that’s is a tradition worth cherishing, keeping alive and spreading and this is our humble attempt at that.

Hope you will enjoy our bars and our Ayurvedic teas and herbal mixes
