The Optical Outlet is a new concept in selling eyewear. Our family has owned and operated over 15 optical retail stores for more than 30 years. Between the two of us we have a combined almost 50 years optical experience. In 2012, we decided to create a store where customers felt comfortable about price AND selection. We wanted to create an atmosphere where the customer didn’t feel pressured into buying expensive eyewear. We understood that in today’s economy people were looking for the best deal. However they were also looking for quality and exceptional customer service. This combination is hard to find. In order to make this concept work, we needed a venue where our overhead was low. We knew that if we could eliminate the high cost of operating business, we could pass those savings on to our customers. However, we could still thrive as a player in a very competitive industry. We tested this new concept at Rice’s Market in New Hope. Our rent was minimal; our cost of doing business was minimal; and our ability to satisfy our customers was evident. Within 2 years we realized that this concept worked. Therefore, we decided to look for another location. We needed a location where we could service our customers’ needs more than just 2 mornings a week. Hollyberry Square in Lahaska met all of our needs. Customers are sure to find a pair of eyeglasses that suits your optical, fashion, and financial demands. We look forward to continued success at both locations, and cannot wait to keep adding to our optical family! HOW CAN WE DO IT??? Buying power doesn't just happen. It develops over time with trust and good business values. We have the ability to acquire the best frames and lenses offered by some of the best distributors in the industry. Because we pay our bills on time, we have built a trusting relationship amongst our suppliers, which allows us to get the best products for the lowest prices. However, most designer manufacturers control the retail price of the frames they sell. Retailers must charge no less than a certain price in order to continue selling their product. Lens manufacturing companies, on the other hand, do not control the retail prices of their lenses. We purchase premium lenses in volume, and prepare them in our very own surfacing lab. The profit in the frames, along with our very low overhead, allows us to slash the cost of your prescription eyewear by 30-50% less than what you are paying at other optical retailers. OUR FRAMES SELECTION We have an unbelievable selection of frames in every price range. All of our frames are current and come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. We are constantly listening to our customer requests, and we always try to satisfy their inner fashion desires. If you see a frame in another optical store, please give us a call before you make a purchase. Chances are very good that we can get that same model, and package your glasses for 30-50% less. Below are just some of the designer brands we carry. Kate Spade DKNY Silhouette Vogue Prada Burberry Kenneth Cole Vera Wang Oakley Ray-Ban Polo Ralph Lauren Tory Burch Bellagio Giorgio Armani Emporio Armani Nine West Michael Kors Tom Ford Timberland Penguin Saks Fifth Avenue Brooks Brothers Flexon And MORE!!!!!! We also partner with Liberty Sport, the leader in protective sport eyewear. LENSES We manufacture all of our eyewear in house. This is just another reason you will save money. By eliminating the middleman, we are able to, believe it or not, give you free single vision lenses in every pair of glasses. We purchase huge quantities of premium stock Rx lenses at very low prices. We do, however charge only $69 for the progressive upgrade. This cost merely covers our manufacturing cost to produce the lens. Do yourself a favor and price progressive lenses before you visit us. It will become very clear as to why you spend a lot less with us. We use premium progressive lenses manufactured by the 2nd largest lens company in the world. The Hoya Amplitude lens has been our CHOICE for progressive lenses. Don’t be fooled by the Varilux illusion. We have the ability to get Varilux lenses, but you will be paying almost $350 just for your lenses. You are, in other words, paying for the brand name of the most marketed (and one of the oldest) progressive lenses in the industry. Our experience with the Hoya Amplitude lens has been better than our experience with Varilux and other Essilor brand progressive lenses. Once you’ve decided what type of lens you want, based on your prescription, you will then have to decide which, if any, options you would like on your glasses. Once again; do a price comparison of the following lens options… -Transition ($69.00) Transition lenses are sensitive to UV light. When you go outside, the sunlight turns them into sunglasses. When you are inside, the lenses are completely clear. The darkness of the lens depends on how much sunlight is actually hitting your lenses. These are a great option if you do not want to purchase a separate pair of sunglasses. -Polarized ($69.00) A Polarized lens is strictly a sunglass lens. Transition lenses do not get dark behind the windshield of a car. If you need sunglasses for driving, polarized lenses are the best option. Bright light does not make you squint. Sun GLARE makes you squint. Polarized lenses cut that sun glare, making it much easier to see when the sun is out. All polarized lenses have UV protection. -Anti-reflective coating ($79.00) Anti reflective coating is a clear coating applied to a finished lens. This clear coating reduces glare caused by things such as computers and oncoming headlights while driving at night. A lens with anti-reflective coating is also an aesthetically appealing lens. A person wearing glasses with an anti-reflective coating will look like they don’t have lenses in their frame. - Polycarbonate ($49.00) Polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant lenses. They are also thinner than regular plastic lenses. Polycarbonate lenses are used in drill mounts (rimless) and safety glasses. They are also recommended for patients who only have vision out of one eye. Polycarbonate lenses will ensure protection of the good eye. Polycarbonate lenses are available in transition and polarized. -Hi-index ($79.00-$119.00) Hi-index lenses are thinner than normal plastic lenses. They can significantly improve your appearance and your vision if you are severely near-sighted or far-sighted. There are different indexes of lenses depending on how efficiently the light is refracted. Generally, the higher your prescription is, the higher your recommended index of refraction should be. We will look at your prescription, your frame choice, and the way the frame fits your face, when determining which, if any, high-index lens you should purchase. Again, we will not talk you into or sell you something you don’t need. Frame choice is so important with higher prescriptions. We will take the time, especially with higher prescriptions, to make sure that the frame fits your face; but also that your prescription looks as good as it can in the frame that you choose. High-index lenses are available in transition and polarized. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE We find it very easy to be transparent when it comes to selling you a pair of glasses. We will never expect you to purchase a pair of spectacles out of your intended price. If you come into our store we will ask you what you think is a comfortable price, and we will never try to raise that limit. It is your choice and we respect that more than anything. We know that giving a customer a good product at a price they can afford will encourage them to return and become a life long client. This, in essence is our philosophy. We will educate you on all aspects of frames and lenses, showing you the benefits and features of the frames, lenses and lens options. With the knowledge we give, you will be able to wisely choose what's best for your eyes and wallet. You will be able to build a package within you budget, by yourself, without the hard sales approach most optical stores deliver.
