Mountains Community Hospital Foundation has received a $50,000 grant from the Harry T. Mangurian Jr. Foundation to support our upcoming seismic compliance and hospital expansion project — a vital step toward securing emergency and acute care for the Rim of the World Communities.

Living along the San Andreas Fault means earthquakes aren’t a matter of if, but when. The 2025 Great ShakeOut is tomorrow, and the Office of Emergency Services is encouraging all residents to participate in this important earthquake preparedness drill. ⚠️

📆 Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025
⏰ Time: 10:16 a.m. (local time)

The Great ShakeOut is an annual event that provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and communities to practice how to stay safe during an earthquake. The key actions are simple but lifesaving:

⬇️ Drop or lock to the ground or find a secure position
🛡️ Cover your head and neck under a sturdy surface
🫨 Hold on until the shaking stops
