🌟 Staff Spotlight: Angelica Kraus, PA-C
Angelica Kraus, PA-C, is one of those teammates who brings calm to the room and confidence to the people she cares for. In her first year at Lake Butler Family & Pediatric Clinic, and fourth year as a PA-C, she has become known for thoughtful, patient-centered care that helps people feel heard, respected, and reassured. Her guiding motto says it best: “Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.”

Outside the clinic, Angelica loves family, her dog, farm life, gardening, reading, drawing, and time in nature. Fun fact: she is an amateur mountaineer with plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Please join us in welcoming Angelica and thanking her for the heart she brings to care every day. 💙

😴 March 2 - 8: National Sleep Awareness Week. Sleep is not a luxury. It is one of the most powerful ways to protect your health, mood, memory, and immune system. During National Sleep Awareness Week, Lake Butler Hospital encourages our community to make rest a priority. Most adults need 7–9 hours of quality sleep each night, yet many people struggle to get enough.

Better sleep starts with small habits:
• Keep a consistent bedtime and wake time
• Turn off screens at least 30 - 60 minutes before bed
• Create a cool, dark, quiet sleep environment
• Avoid caffeine late in the day
• Get natural sunlight and movement during the day

Poor sleep can harm your heart, mood, memory, immune system, blood sugar, and daily safety, increasing your risk of chronic illness, depression, and serious accidents.

💙 Your health starts with rest. 💤 Small changes and the right support can make a big difference.

If poor sleep is affecting your health, our primary care team can help.
Let’s get you scheduled. LakeButlerClinic.com

Today, our team had the privilege of spending the morning at Union County High School for Career Day, and it was one of those moments that makes you feel proud of where we live and confident in the future.

We met inspired students already exploring careers in healthcare, including nursing, physicians, radiology, therapy, lab, neurology, EMS, imaging, pharmacy, respiratory care, surgical services, nutrition, behavioral health, administration, veterinary, and so much more.

Students were full of curiosity, and we loved their questions:
• I faint at the sight of blood. Do I still have a future in healthcare?
• How often do people come in because Google scared them?
• What does a day in the ER really look like, and do you ever get a quiet day?
• Needles freak me out. What are good options that don’t involve them?
• How hard is nursing school, for real?
• I love helping people, but math hates me. What are my options?

Those questions matter. These students are curious, learning, and growing into the kind of citizens who will strengthen the world wherever they go, starting right here in Union County.

To the parents, teachers, and local businesses supporting the event today, thank you for helping these students grow into confident, capable young adults. And to every student who stopped by, keep asking questions, keep learning, and keep dreaming big. We’re al cheering you on, and we cannot wait to see the amazing things you’ll do. The future is in good hands. 💜💛🐯

🩸 National Phlebotomists Recognition Week | February 9–13, 2026 This week, Lake Butler Hospital is celebrating phlebotomists - the friendly, steady-handed pros whose blood draws make the test results that guide diagnosis, treatment, and peace of mind possible.

Special shout-out to our very own April Cuchens! April, your professionalism, kindness, gentle touch, and steady consistency set the standard… and you’re also the reason people say, “Wait… you’re already done?!” 😄 If you’ve ever had your blood drawn by April, you know the vibe: fun conversation, quick work, and somehow you didn’t even feel the needle. In a moment that can feel a little nerve-wracking, April makes patients feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Your precision makes answers possible. Your compassion makes people feel safe. Thank you for taking such great care of our community. 💙
