Endocrine Disrupters-what are they? They are the things we put on and in our bodies. They can be things like, soaps, detergents, perfumes, deodorants, dyes, lotions, plastics, medications etc.
Bioidentical hormone replacement-this is the art of replacing hormones that have naturally or (un)naturally depleted due to age and/or endocrine disrupters.
I have patients (both men and women) who ask why I would put back in hormones that are naturally declining. They will pose the statement, “this is the way God designed it to be so I should not be adding those back in” …..
God allowed Sarah to have Issac at 90 years old so I ask you how she could have had a healthy baby boy at 90 if she was not still fertile, if her hormones were not still at optimal levels and how could Abraham had planted that seed had his hormones not been still pretty potent. This is just one of many biblical recollections that proves hormones were behaving very differently back in those days.
I say all of that to reassure the ladies (and men) who are struggling with the about question adding them back…God designed you to have optimization…man came in and created lots of shortcuts that affected natural hormone production…
Never question if adding back in hormones to feel better is for you, it most definitely is for you. It was the divine design.
