Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier

Age: Approximately 2 years old

Gender: Female

Description: Star is a shining example of a loyal and intelligent companion. Her expressive eyes capture the hearts of everyone she meets. Despite her time at the shelter, Star maintains a positive attitude and a wagging tail, always ready to greet visitors with a friendly bark and a hopeful look.

Personality: Star is not just a good girl; she's an exceptional one. Her eagerness to please shines through in everything she does. She is incredibly intelligent and learns new tricks with astonishing speed. Star eagerly embraces each new challenge with enthusiasm. She thrives on positive reinforcement and loves nothing more than making her human friends proud.

Habits: Star keeps her kennel impeccably clean, a testament to her excellent manners and potty training. She is a well-behaved and gentle soul who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like long walks, belly rubs, and cuddling up for a nap. Star's affectionate nature and unwavering loyalty make her the perfect companion for someone looking for a furry friend to share life's adventures with.

Background: Star arrived at the shelter on March 16, 2024, and has been patiently waiting for her forever home ever since. Despite her many remarkable qualities, no one has come forward to adopt her yet, leaving her feeling a bit lonely and sad. But Star remains hopeful that the right person will come along and give her the chance to shine.

Ideal Home: Star would thrive in a loving and active household where she can be an integral part of the family. She would do well with an owner who is committed to providing her with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. Most importantly, Star is looking for someone who will cherish her as much as she will cherish them.

Let's give Star the opportunity to light up someone's life with her boundless love and unwavering devotion. She's more than just a good girl; she's a true star waiting to shine bright in her forever home.

It’s not easy to let go of something you can’t see. We begin our road to recovery in pain. As we go forward, God helps open our eyes to see what is pulling and holding us down. Its time to let go and and let God help you.

“Every day God puts opportunities around us to demonstrate love. But most of the time, we’re too busy to follow through. How many times have you thought, “I need to make a call; I need to encourage that person at work; I need to help my neighbor,” but then you missed the opportunity because something else came up? Love takes advantage of opportunities to serve others.” Pastor Rick Warren

Celebrate Recovery encourages us to "examine our ways" to identify areas within our life that may be impacting our relationship with God and others. One of the best tools is journaling. Making time daily to reflect on our actions that day. Here are some questions to help you identify opportunities for improvement:

- What good did I do today?
- In what areas did I blow it today?
- Did I do or say anything that hurt someone?
- Do I owe an amends (apology)?
- What did I learn from my thoughts, words, and actions today?

Challenge yourself to make time twice a week to reflect on these questions and record your responses. In time, you may be able to see trends, habitual patterns, that can help you choose a different response/action in the future.

What if you're not a writer? Maybe you express your thoughts better verbally. Don't let that stop you from using this tool.
Your phone should have a voice recording app that can translate your speech into text.

How you do it, whether in writing or speech, make time to invest in working toward a better future. This tool can help if you use it.

Send us a Facebook message if you have any questions or wish to share some victories and insights you learn from this.

God's peace!
