According to a recent study by the National Institute on Aging maintaining better blood pressure control also contributes to the slowing of white matter disease in adults age 75 and older. White matter disease is in reference to neurocognitive diseases such as Alzheimers. Happy March 1st everyone!

Learning about fall prevention is not a topic that everyone would care to learn about, however as we age the risk of falls increases. According to the Mayo Clinic there are several preventative steps we can take in order to prevent falls from occurring. One of them include seeing your doctor to determine if certain medications or medical conditions can increase your risk of falling. Another preventive measure includes staying active, whether it be walking or water workouts, can go a long way in keeping our mobility as we age as well as preventing falls.
