Four Ways to Explore Yogi Ninja 🧘♀️
A playful variation of Skandāsana that builds strength, stability, and mobility through the hips and legs. Try these options and see what feels best in your body:
1️⃣ Hands at heart center
Support your balance by experimenting with the feet — on the extended leg, try lifting the toes toward the ceiling or grounding the foot with toes facing the long edge of your mat. On the bent leg, balance on the toes with the heel lifted, or press the heel toward the earth if the ankle mobility is there.
2️⃣ High ninja
Keep the hips lifted instead of sinking low. Bend into one knee while straightening the other to explore more strength and stability.
3️⃣ Add blocks
Use blocks for support in either high or low ninja. They create space, help with balance, and make the shape more accessible.
4️⃣ Bound yogi ninja
Take a bind around the bent knee to deepen the expression of the pose.
