Joint Commission recently introduced 14 National Performance Goals (NPGs), which address critical aspects of safe, high-quality patient care. Here’s what you need to know about them:

✔️ NPGs streamline existing accreditation requirements that go beyond regulation, simplifying the path to preventing patient harm and improving outcomes.

✔️ NPGs replace National Patient Safety Goals, effective Jan. 1, 2026, for hospitals and critical access hospitals.

✔️ NPGs are part of Joint Commission’s Accreditation 360 transformation that aims to make accreditation smarter, lighter, and more aligned with how healthcare is delivered today.
