A new study presented at The Menopause Society’s October 2025 Annual Meeting found that beginning estrogen therapy during perimenopause (rather than waiting until after menopause) is linked with significantly improved long-term health outcomes.
The new research suggested that:
👉 Women who started estrogen therapy sooner had 60% lower odds of major conditions like breast cancer, heart attack, and stroke compared with those who started later.
👉 Starting hormone therapy after menopause offered much less protection and in some cases raised risk of stroke.
If you’re transitioning into menopause, experiencing hot flashes, disrupted sleep, mood shifts, or low energy, this could be the moment to talk to your provider about your hormone-health strategy. Waiting might mean missing the window for the greatest benefit.
At OnePeak Medical, we believe in care that’s personal and precise. We take into account your full health picture, like hormones, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, and goals, to help you explore whether hormone therapy is a safe, smart option for you.
