HEY! AdventHealth AdventHealth Orlando Life at AdventHealth AdventHealth University

Advent Ocala is the worst hospital to birth at.
Your staff lacks empathy and has no bedside skills. That hospital reeks with institutional RACISM and medical bias.

As a doula I observed clients being mistreated and just simply ignored. PRIMARILY from BLACK birthing bodies.
A colleague of mine is dealing with the GROSS MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE that occurred with her client this past week at the hands of your medical staff.
Again. A black mother!!!!!!!!!!

Advent Ocala doesn't respect or value doulas in the birth space. (Which we are there to keep our clients SAFE)

This hospital needs to be questioned by FLDOH and the hospital board if directors.

We have met with the Ocala admin. Met with the Assistant Vice President of Advent Ocala, Cynthia Poirier and Birth Designer Lacy. We submitted statements to the executive board of Advent Ocala.
Specific issues concerning our clients were given and I was assured that their individual charts would be reviewed.

We even went as far as COMING IN AND TEACHING YOUR STAFF ABOUT MEDICAL RACISM, about doula care and HOW TO KEEP MOTHERS SAFE.
And we are STILL BEING SILENCED.

What the f**k do we have to do to be heard?!

If everyone can take a moment to share this.

Yesterday, my dearest friends lost the life of their sweet 2 month old Javier.

With everything going on, no parents deserve to bury their child. let alone face the hardships that they have to face.

I am trying to raise funds to help some of the following for her
funeral expenses
rental/ bill espenses
cleaning
groceries
anything to help them
I know that no amount of money can take away their pain, but money and stress from bills is the last thing that should be on their mind.

funeral arrangements are currently being made as this JUST happened and everyone is in shock.

▪️ This technique may also reduce back pain, hip pain, or tailbone pain. Improved fetal positioning does occur too.
▪️ It is a very worthwhile activity because simply turning the baby’s head down is a notable achievement in and of itself.
▪️ This is a technique that creates room in the lower uterus.
▪️ The baby can then use that space (with the natural pull of gravity) to snuggle into a more ideal position for birth!
▪️ Potentially makes room for a good fetal position by untwisting any ligaments to the lower uterus and cervix that may be wound up from sudden stops or a twisted posture.
▪️ Kneeling afterward also allows temporarily lengthened ligaments to align the uterus with the pelvis. The cervix may become less tipped or tight and then be able to let the baby’s head position better, and the cervix to dilate in labor more easily.
