Employee of the Month: Anita Bendickson, Director of Nursing, Sunnyside
Since joining Sunnyside in May 2021, Anita Bendickson has exemplified dedication, leadership, and compassion in every aspect of her role as Director of Nursing. Her commitment to excellence is evident in the way she consistently ensures the building is properly staffed, supports her team with the resources they need, and actively works to improve operational efficiency.
Anita is more than just a leader; she’s a mentor and a steady presence. Always just a phone call or text away, she makes herself available to staff, not only for work-related matters but also for genuine conversations that build trust and camaraderie. Her ability to connect with others on a personal level makes her a pillar of the Sunnyside community.
Outside of work, Anita is a proud and devoted mother of three, spending her free time cheering them on in basketball, football, and volleyball. Her energy, empathy, and tireless work ethic make her truly deserving of this recognition.
Congratulations, Anita! You are the heart of Sunnyside.

Sunnyside is thrilled to recognize 2 individuals for the Employee of the Month award!
First up, Joe 👋
Joe has worked at Sunnyside as the maintenance director for about 8 years. He makes sure the building is operating as it should! One resident stated,” He’s always helping out and working hard. Joe is just a really good guy” There aren’t many things that Joe can’t do or fix. He is also our pontoon driver and griller, a highlight during the summers at Sunnyside. A resident stated, ”I really enjoy his pontoon rides.” Sunnyside and the Residents want to thank Joe for all of his hard work and dedication; without Joe the building may literally fall apart!

Next is, Heather M 👋
Heather has been a part of the Sunnyside team for the last 5 years. She will be found passing medications and helping the residents and staff. A resident stated that Heather deserved team member of the month because “she just helps out all over.” Another resident stated, “I can always count on her and she knows exactly what I need.” Sunnyside residents and team members want to thank Heather for her dedication, hard work and attention to detail.
