Women For Women Obstetrics and Gynecology

Women For Women Obstetrics and Gynecology Women for Women OB/GYN LLC is exactly what our name implies. Comprehensive care by women for women. The physicians operate with a team approach.

Women for Women OB/GYN LLC is exactly what our name implies; four female Board-certified OB/GYN physicians and one female certified nurse practitioner all working cooperatively to offer the best possible care for women from puberty through menopause. Women for Women OB/GYN provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care from routine check-ups to emergency procedures. We are experts in general OB/GYN care, high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy. We provide many specialty services including bone densitometry, Halo, gynecological sonography, 4-D obstetrical ultrasound, and minimally invasive surgery. Our office is adjacent to the Long Island Jewish Medical center on Lakeville Road and our providers are all on staff at LIJ. Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York which contains a neonatal intensive care unit is part of LIJ and we work closely with their staff as well. Gynecological patients will have a primary care doctor within our practice, but in an emergency, it is possible that they may be attended by one of the other physicians. Obstetrical patients will rotate with all of the physicians, as we work as a team to provide the most comprehensive care.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, ACOG has been the country’s leading medical voice about the importance of understanding how a COVID-19 vaccine would affect pregnant patients, and has actively opposed the exclusion of pregnant and lactating patients from vaccination trials and recommendations.

CDC and partners continue to investigate the source of a Listeria outbreak linked to deli meat. If you are pregnant, aged 65 years or older, or have a weakened immune system, CDC always advises that you avoid eating deli meat unless it’s heated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot just before serving. Because deli meats can have Listeria bacteria, CDC advises this even when there are no ongoing outbreaks. https://go.usa.gov/x7gcp.

CDC updates its COVID-19 guidance to include information about potential for airborne spread. Based on current science, CDC believes people are still most likely to become infected with COVID-19 the longer and closer they are to a person with COVID-19.

A few published reports show limited, uncommon circumstances where people with COVID-19 infected others who were more than 6 feet away or shortly after the COVID-19-positive person left an area. In these instances, transmission occurred in poorly ventilated and enclosed spaces that often involved activities that caused heavier breathing, like singing or exercise. Such environments and activities may contribute to the buildup of virus-carrying particles.

CDC’s recommendations remain the same: People can protect themselves from COVID-19 by staying at least 6 feet away from others, wearing a mask that covers their nose & mouth, washing hands frequently, cleaning touched surfaces often, avoid crowded indoor spaces and ensure indoor spaces are properly ventilated, and staying home when sick.

The medication works quickly, within 48 hours. But it’s an expensive infusion and requires a stay in a medical center.
