Hello all and thank you for visiting the “Conquer Breast Cancer” FB Page! I am Michelle, a physical therapist for twenty years and I am passionate about what I do! I have been blessed with the opportunity to guide entrusted woman on their journey of recovery after breast cancer. I will teach you how to prevent and conquer pain, stiffness and swelling after breast cancer so you can live your best life!
You’ve beat cancer, now what? It is time to get back out there and get back to normal, right? In my experience, not everyone jumps back into the swing of things with a little pep talk. Some of you won't skip a beat, and some of you may silently suffer with the side effects that no one tells you about. The recovery road will be unique to each of you and I am here to guide you each step of the way.
If you’re reading this and being a survivor has been a breeze, please educate yourself of possible side effects so you can spread the word in support of other survivors that may not have it so easy. Most of my patients who sought my help came to me because a fellow survivor or friend educated them about how physical therapy can help them after breast cancer. Even if you do not have any side effects, you can learn here how to recognize and prevent side effects. You can truly make a difference in the life of other women by simply spreading the word.
Those of you on the bumpy road to recovery may have had decreased range of motion, lack of strength, stiffness, swelling and pain. I have found so many strong women just learn to deal with “it!” “It” refers to anything that comes after the breast cancer, the side effects, whether it is anxiety, discomfort, lymphedema, decreased range of motion, hesitance to move, fear to return to prior activities, or any other limitations in daily life. The site will help teach you valuable techniques to recognize, assess and treat yourself. As survivors, you deserve to thrive, soar, heal, and be at your best!
I give survivors the knowledge on this page to find the inner strength and become a self healer!
