✨ Exciting News at The Heathers! ✨

Please join us in congratulating Julie on her promotion to Director of Nursing!

We are pleased to share that Julie has been promoted to Director of Nursing. Julie has been a valued nurse with us for several months and has proven to be a dedicated, compassionate professional. She brings strong clinical experience and a commitment to excellence in resident care. Please join me in congratulating Julie when you see her.

🩺A little about Julie:

My previous healthcare roles include working as a CNA, working as a Floor Nurse in Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities, and as a Director of Resident Care. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting residents and their families during some of their most challenging moments, building meaningful relationships that I will always cherish. I have a special passion for working with individuals living with dementia and strive to enhance their quality of life in meaningful ways, whether by developing creative communication approaches or simply offering comfort and presence during their times of need.
I am married to my husband, Juan. Together, we’ve built an amazing blended family and are parents to six children, our daughters Angelica, Ava, and Zoey, and our sons Jake, Nick, and Brock. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and listening to music.

Valentine’s Day was extra special at The Heathers! 💌

Our residents absolutely loved opening their Valentine’s boxes filled with sweet notes and fun surprises. The smiles said it all — they truly felt the love. ❤️

We are so grateful for our resident families who volunteered to help with this special project and made the day so meaningful for everyone.

Jean brings such a gentle spirit and warmth to our Ringwood home, and it was a joy to honor her on her special day. Birthdays are always a beautiful reminder of the life, memories, and wisdom each of our residents share with us.

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at The Heathers ❤️

We’ve been celebrating all the love this Valentine’s season with laughter, meaningful conversations, delicious meals, and festive crafts. Our residents shared some priceless dating advice (wisdom that only comes with experience!), enjoyed time around the table together, and created beautiful Valentine’s artwork.

Moments like these are more than just fun — they’re purposeful. Reminiscing about relationships and life stories helps stimulate long-term memory and spark conversation. Crafting supports fine motor skills, creativity, and focus. Gathering together for meals and shared activities strengthens social connection and reduces isolation — all essential components of emotional and cognitive well-being for seniors.

We are so grateful to create experiences that are both joyful and enriching. Wishing everyone a Valentine’s Day filled with love 💕

We had the best surprise visit this week at The Heathers!

Brendon, one of our former Care Partners, stopped by to see us — and it meant so much. Brendon had his very first healthcare job right here at The Heathers. He came to us eager to learn, and over the course of 2 ½ years, he grew into a true top performer. Watching his confidence and clinical skills develop was such a proud journey for our team.

While we were so sad to see him go, we were equally excited to cheer him on as he stepped into his new adventure as an EMT — and he is absolutely thriving in his role!

He came back to visit our residents and personally thank us for the training and support he received. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. We don’t just build careers — we help launch them.

We love seeing our team members grow!
