We recognize that parents are the first professionals of their child and that children are doing the best they can given the skill set that they currently have. Specializing in young children, ages birth through elementary school, we work together through play to increase skill sets, improve attachments, and have fun together! In 2023, the following 28 professional organizations adamantly opposed Conversion Therapy for the LGBTQIA+ community....check it out, it's every large organization representing mental health and medical health groups. Overwhelmingly, the research supports banning this practice (conversion therapy) as dangerous to mental health.

Currently, the Supreme Court is hearing a case to try to overturn Colorado's ban on conversion therapy.

You know all those sensory body-mind strategies you offer your kids for regulation?

- popsicles, cold drinks through straws, and the like
- getting your body/head upside down
- "heavy work" or weighted blankets
- moving your body to move your brain (getting unstuck)
etc, etc, etc...

Yeah, I do them too for myself.

A sincere “Thank you for sharing that with me” is a great start to most things my kids tell me about how they are feeling or something that didn’t go right for them.

If I can remember to start that way, the rest of the conversation has a chance to build the things I hope for them: empathy, resilience, social problem solving, and emotional management.
