Massage therapy looks different for every dog 🤌 some dogs have high energy and we move with them. Some dogs snuggle right on in and will even ask for more attention somewhere. Some dogs don't even love to be touched-- stay tuned for that massage therapy journey 😉

✨️Is it muscle pain, or dysfunction in the fascia?✨️

"HOW DO YOU MASSAGE A COW?!"
... like this 🥰

Large animals are just like people. We have the same muscle composition, though cows have a special composition that we lack in fiber types.

Their 3 MAIN types of fibers:

Type 1 muscles are slow twitch- these are postural muscles- for posture, endurance, and sustained movement. (We have these!)

Type 2A muscles are fast twitch - these are your quick responses- they give big bursts of movement and strength. (We have these too!)

Type 2X muscles are fast twitch glycolytic muscles- these muscles provide quick energy without using oxygen because they rely on anaerobic glycolysis (the process of turning sugar into energy)- they give extreme bursts of power and are designed for maximal output, but they also have no fatigue resistance. (We DON'T have these.. these are unique to cows 😉)

Depending on the breed of cow, they can also have a Double Muscling effect- where they have an increased number of Type 2A fibers

ALLLLLL of these fibers are affected by daily life based on the muscles role, the breed of the animal, the diet, and the lifestyle they live.
The key is knowing if the dysfunction is in the muscle, or in the fascia that surrounds them 👌

Meet ✨️Kyra✨️

This baby angel will be 6 years old on February 22nd 💕

She has SEVERE hip dysplasia.

Some of the things Ky struggles with daily:

• Getting up the stairs
• Has difficulty releaving herself
• She can’t lay on one side to long
• Isn't confident standing, and looses her balance sometimes
• Loading up in the car is a challenge

How massage makes a difference:

• She can relieve herself more comfortablly
• Her gait is more balanced, and her legs are more steady
• She walks up the stairs with more ease
• She can take LONG uninterrupted (painless) naps
• She can get in the car much easier

Kyra's mom also takes holistic precautions, and has a wonderful supplement regimen for her joint health 😉
