Don’t forget to spring forward! Our clocks do it automatically but our bodies will feel the lag of a lost hour of sleep.

Be gentle with yourself as we adjust. The evidence behind “more heart attacks after daylight savings” is mixed, but it’s never a bad idea to treat the change with caution.

Eldr is an easy-to-use app that brings together all the essential information seniors need, and lets them share it with their families and caregivers.

Eldr compares medication costs, organizes important documents and connects to local resources, so families can focus on the parent, not the paperwork.

Valentine’s Day is a reminder that heart health matters at every stage of life. ❤️

Caring for your heart means more than flowers and chocolate. Choose nutrient dense foods, prioritize gentle movement like walking, protect your sleep and manage stress with real support.

Chronic sleep deprivation and unmanaged stress impact cardiovascular health. Consistent rest, balanced meals, hydration, and light exercise are foundational habits that protect long term wellness.

Happy Day from all of us at the Eldr app!

Did you know naps are generally healthy for seniors when kept to 15–30 minutes in the early afternoon?

They offer benefits like improved cognitive function, memory, mood and increased alertness. They help compensate for age-related declines in nighttime sleep quality.

Of course there’s a caveat, excessive or long napping (over 60–90 minutes) may indicate underlying health issues and can disrupt nighttime sleep. 💤

When you shovel snow, several things hit your heart at once:

1. Cold narrows blood vessels and makes arteries tighten. That raises blood pressure and makes it harder for the heart to push blood.

2. Snow is dense and wet so lifting it suddenly increases heart rate and blood pressure much more than walking or steady exercise.

3. We hold our breath without realizing when lifting (called the Valsalva maneuver).

so if you’ve ever heard that new shoveling causes heart attacks, it is indeed true. If you’re shoveling this weekend, take breaks, go slowly and try to push instead of lift.
