We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve successfully filled our two fellowship positions for the upcoming year! Please join us in welcoming Dr. Amr Alemairy and Dr. Nihad Al-Yousfi to our team.

We are excited to have them join our growing program and look forward to their contributions to the field of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

What an amazing day here in Lakeland, Florida! 🌿

We had the pleasure of hosting some of our Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship candidates for our Second Look event. They toured our hospital, including the bronchoscopy suite, pulmonary inpatient, ICU, and more—getting a firsthand look at where all the PCC magic happens! 🏥💨

Afterward, we headed over to Bonnet Springs Park, where the sunset added the perfect touch to an unforgettable tour of the park. 🌅🌳

Wishing all the candidates the best of luck as they prepare for the upcoming MATCH on December 3rd! 🍀

We had an incredible time bonding at our first-ever PCCM Team Building Event! 🙌💙 Our team hit the lanes for a fun-filled evening of bowling with our amazing fellows and their families. It was the perfect way to unwind, connect, and share some laughs while building stronger relationships within our team.

We are proud to share that our Pulmonary & Critical Care Program Director, Dr. Bashar Alzghoul, recently participated in a meeting in New York with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan as a member of the Jordanian American Physicians Association (JAPA).

The discussion highlighted opportunities to strengthen Jordan’s medical sector through collaboration, the exchange of expertise, and the transfer of modern technologies. JAPA continues to play a vital role in supporting healthcare in Jordan by contributing to medical institutions, advancing education for Jordanian medical students in the U.S., and supporting humanitarian efforts in the region.

It is an honor to see Dr. Alzghoul engaged in such meaningful work, representing both our program and the larger mission of advancing global health.

Our PCC fellows in action! 💪 Practicing advanced ICU techniques in the Simulation lab-from airway management to hemodynamic troubleshooting and common ICU procedures, with hands-on guidance and pro tips from faculty.
At Lakeland Regional Health, we are committed to building confident, capable pulmonologists and intensivists through high-quality training and high-quality exposure.

Big day for our brand-new Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine fellows: Today they took their first ITE (In-Training Exam), just a few weeks into fellowship and just weeks away from sitting for their ABIM Internal Medicine Boards.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment to learning, their courage, and the grace with which they’re balancing it all.

This is just the beginning — and we can’t wait to see them grow into outstanding intensivists and pulmonologists. 💙💪
