We can’t get over these smiles! 🌟 Our Life Steps graduate stopped by to visit with her two boys and shared, "It’s definitely been a blessing…You guys have amazing resources and beautiful people…from books, to diapers, wipes.. we wouldn't have strollers or a playpen without you. I've recommended you [to other moms] so many times.” She added, “I’ve made friends, learned tips & tricks from parenting classes…You guys helped me with my miscarriage back in 2015.” Stories like hers make our hearts full and none of this would be possible without the prayers and generosity of supporters like you. As of late February 2026, the State of Louisiana is engaged in a high-stakes legal challenge against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over its 2023 policy that allows the majority of the abortion medication mifepristone to be prescribed remotely and delivered by mail. Louisiana, led by Attorney General Liz Murrill, argues that the FDA’s change — which eliminated a longstanding requirement that the drug be dispensed in person at a medical facility — undermines state pro-life laws and jeopardizes women’s health.

In the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, the state is seeking a preliminary injunction to immediately block the FDA’s rule and reinstate mandatory in-person, in-facility dispensing of mifepristone while the case proceeds. The complaint, which names a Louisiana resident as a co-plaintiff, asserts that the current policy enables out-of-state prescribers and organizations to mail abortion drugs into pro-life states, and includes claims that a woman in Louisiana was allegedly coerced into taking the medication without a proper, in-person medical evaluation.

Oral arguments on Louisiana’s request for a preliminary injunction were heard by a federal judge on February 24, 2026, despite opposition from the federal government, which urged the court to pause the case. A decision on whether to restrict access under the existing FDA policy is expected in the coming weeks.

This litigation is part of a broader legal and political battle over abortion policy in the United States. In addition to the federal lawsuit, Louisiana has moved to treat mifepristone and its companion drug misoprostol as controlled dangerous substances under state law — a step that could further restrict access within the state. A ruling in favor of Louisiana could have significant implications for medication abortion access nationwide, particularly for services that rely on telemedicine and mail delivery.

Let us be in prayer that God’s will be done in this case and that wisdom, compassion, and justice guide all those affected by the court’s ruling. ✨
