Meet Joseph Faria, LICSW

Helping clients navigate grief, strengthen relationships, and build authentic communication.

Joseph Faria, LICSW, who goes by Joe, approaches therapy as a space for learning, reflection, and personal growth. He brings curiosity, compassion, and respect to each session, helping clients feel comfortable exploring what matters most to them.

His path to social work began while working as a job coach for individuals with developmental disabilities. The experience showed him how powerful it can be to support others in reaching their goals, inspiring him to pursue a career focused on mental health and personal growth.

Joe often helps clients process grief, strengthen communication skills, and build confidence in relationships. His approach is client-focused and collaborative, centered on building trust and allowing each person to guide the pace of their sessions. “Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I try to create a space where clients can set the tone and move at their own comfort level,” he says.

He reminds clients that taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage and encourages them to give themselves credit for beginning the process. Guided by the principle of “Start where the client is,” Joe views therapy as a shared journey where clients steer their own growth and change, with him offering guidance and support along the way.

Outside of work, Joe finds balance through music and time outdoors. He enjoys playing piano, which he finds both calming and meditative, and spending time with friends and family.
