❤️🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE: RISE IN ROMANCE SCAMS 🚨❤️
📢 ATTENTION FAMILY MEMBERS & FRIENDS
Recently, there has been an increase in internet romance scams affecting our patients. These scams are becoming more common and more convincing, and we want to ensure everyone is aware and protected.
⚠️ WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Individuals are being contacted online or by phone by someone who:
Pretends to form a romantic relationship
Quickly expresses love or commitment
Talks about marriage or a future together
👉 The goal is to gain trust and eventually ask for money.
🚩 WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Sudden “romantic” relationships with someone never met in person
Requests for money, gift cards, or wire transfers
Excuses for why they cannot meet (overseas, military, emergency, etc.)
Secrecy or reluctance to discuss the relationship
❗ WHY THIS MATTERS
These scams can cause:
Significant financial loss
Emotional distress and manipulation
Increased vulnerability for our elderly population
