Starting the conversation about hospice can be difficult. Begin by focusing on what matters most: comfort, peace, and support.
You might say, “I want to make sure you’re comfortable and cared for. Hospice can help us do that.” 🌿

Hospice care extends beyond the patient. Our bereavement team offers grief support for families for 13 months after a loved one’s passing — because healing takes time, and no one should walk it alone. 💜

🌸 Feature Friday: Meet Tony C. Evans! 🌸

Tony is one of our compassionate Spiritual Counselors in New Jersey, providing both spiritual and bereavement support to our patients and families. For the past 3 years, he’s been a steady source of comfort, strength, and faith for those navigating life’s most tender moments. 💜

Tony shares, “I love interacting with patients and families—meeting them where they are and providing the support they need to help them through their challenges.”

When asked what he loves most about being part of Swan Hospice, Tony said, “It’s an opportunity to minister the way God intended—outside the walls of the traditional church building and across various denominations and houses of faith.” 🙏

We are so grateful for the light, compassion, and peace you bring to our Swan family, Tony.

Can You Leave Hospice?
Yes! Hospice is a choice, not a final decision.
If your condition improves, or you decide to pursue curative treatment again, you can revoke hospice care at any time — and re-enroll later if needed. Hospice is here when you need it. 💖

🌸 Feature Friday: Meet Rita Zygmund! 🌸

Rita is our amazing Office Manager in New Jersey — handling everything from aide scheduling and HR to office management and supplies. She’s the one who keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes so our care team can focus on what matters most: our patients. 💜

Rita says it best — “I sweat the small stuff so the medical personnel don’t have to.”

Coming up on her 2-year anniversary in April, Rita says what she loves most about being part of Swan Hospice is simple: “Everything.”

Thank you, Rita, for your dedication, organization, and heart that help make Swan such a special place to work and receive care! 🌷

💜 World Kindness Day – November 13th

Today is World Kindness Day, a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. 🌷

At Swan Hospice, kindness is at the heart of everything we do — from holding a patient’s hand, to listening to a family’s story, to supporting our fellow team members. Every smile, every visit, every thoughtful gesture matters. 💕

Let’s all take a moment today to spread kindness — whether it’s a kind word, a helping hand, or simply being present for someone who needs it.

Together, we can make the world a little brighter. 🌎✨

To all veterans and their families — thank you for your service, your strength, and your legacy.
🕊 We salute you today and always.

Hospice vs. Palliative Care

Both focus on comfort, but there’s a key difference:

Palliative care can begin at any stage of a serious illness.

Hospice care is for those with a life expectancy of six months or less, when treatment is no longer curative.
Both prioritize living fully — with compassion and comfort. 💫
