Jade Kids Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc. is now dba Jade Kids The long term goal to support this purpose is to have a nature site in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

The purpose of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt corporation, is exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, more specifically to help others by promoting healing, health and wellbeing through training and treatment using the nature based theory of Chinese Medicine at an affordable cost to the patients and clients. Inspiration for founding Jade Woman de LaLonde and this goal came in part from Richard Louv. In his book, "Last Child in the Woods" he states "the child in nature is an endangered species and the health of children and the health of the Earth are inseparable." Judi Terrill, Founder and Executive Director of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc, is the mastermind behind the entire organization. She has eighteen years of experience as a Chinese Medicine Professional. With nature as her basis and guide, Ms. Terrill developed a unique Five Element model to diagnose and treat children, parents, families and other adults. This nature based art form of the medicine uses elements in nature, specifically, water, wood, fire, earth and metal to identify the individual characteristics, needs and best environment for healthy development and wellbeing. Treatment focuses on the entire being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. She has often helped both children and adults that Western Medicine has been unsuccessful diagnosing and treating. In addition to her experience and expertise in Chinese Medicine practice, teaching and program development, Ms. Terrill had an extensive career in Corporate America as a Corporate Executive and Officer in Finance, Management and Administration.

Today is National Kindness Day!

Kindness and empathy go hand in hand. In a world where children face pressures at home, school, online, and beyond, empathy equips them with tools to navigate harsh challenges. Teaching empathy helps children connect with others on a deeper level and guides them in responding with kindness.

Helping others, caring for the environment, being kind to animals, sharing food or toys, smiling at strangers — all are acts of kindness a child can learn very young in life.

Nature is a place where our nervous systems can downshift. It's the quiet rhythm of the seasons, the sound of water, or the feeling of sunlight filtering through the trees can calm anxiety, reduce stress, and offer a feeling of perspective and grounding that often gets lost in the noise of modern life.

We hope you’ll consider donating to Jade Kids during Colorado Gives Donation Drive. Your generosity will support Pediatric Clinics and financially assist with treatments for children. We have multiple clinic locations which we need to maintain and expand. Please donate any way you can, because all children are treated regardless of their family's ability to pay.

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” Native American Chief Seattle

During early childhood, from birth to five years of age, learning about nature typically includes becoming familiar with animals, plants, seasons, and weather. Emphasizing positive and frequent interactions with nature fosters a young child’s innate curiosity without overwhelming or scaring them. Child-directed exploration should occur naturally — picking up leaves, collecting rocks, following insects, watching birds, etc. Adults should advise and guide, but not force interactions. This furthers the confidence and social development of young children.

The expanding body of scientific evidence suggests that Nature-Deficit Disorder® (NDD) contributes to a diminished use of the senses, attention difficulties, conditions of obesity, and higher rates of emotional and physical illnesses. Research also suggests that NDD weakens ecological literacy and stewardship of the natural world. These problems are linked more broadly to what health care experts call the “epidemic of inactivity,” and to a devaluing of independent and outdoor play.

The well-being of children and the wild places we love are inextricably linked. Time in nature makes kids healthier, happier, and smarter. While research shows that regular time outdoors is essential for children’s healthy development, today’s kids are more connected to the internet than to nature.
