Hip dysplasia is more common than most people realize, and it often goes undiagnosed because the symptoms can look like simple muscle strain or general hip tightness. Pain in the groin or outer hip, feelings of instability, clicking or catching, difficulty with certain movements, or limited range of motion can all be signs that the hip joint is not aligned as it should be.

When the joint does not sit properly in the socket, it can place extra stress on the cartilage and labrum, leading to ongoing pain and early joint wear. Understanding what is causing the pain is the first step toward protecting long term hip health.

If hip pain is affecting your daily life, the Hip Preservation Program at OrthoColorado Hospital can help you find answers, receive a thorough evaluation, and explore treatment options that support safe and lasting mobility.

There comes a point when joint pain becomes more than a daily annoyance. When pain limits your movement, affects your sleep, or keeps you from enjoying the activities you love, it may be time to explore joint replacement as an option.

Joint replacement is designed to reduce pain, restore function, and help you return to a more active lifestyle. Many patients turn to this option when treatments like physical therapy, injections, medication, and activity changes no longer provide enough relief. If pain continues to disrupt your life, a more advanced solution may help you regain comfort and confidence.

Signs joint replacement may be right for you:
✅ Persistent pain during daily activities
✅ Stiffness that limits mobility or range of motion
✅ Difficulty walking, climbing stairs, or standing for long periods
✅ Pain that interferes with sleep
✅ Reduced quality of life or missed activities due to joint discomfort
✅ Conservative treatments are no longer effective

Next steps to consider:
☑️ Schedule an evaluation with an orthopedic specialist
☑️ Discuss imaging needs such as X rays to better understand the condition of your joint
☑️ Review both non surgical and surgical options to determine what best fits your goals
☑️ Ask questions about recovery time, expectations, and long term outcomes
☑️ Create a personalized treatment plan that supports your health and lifestyle

At OrthoColorado Hospital, our orthopedic specialists are here to help you understand your options and build a clear path forward. If joint pain is holding you back, our team is ready to support you every step of the way.

🦵 Athletes: Don’t ignore lingering hip pain

Signs to watch for:
✅ Groin pain during running, jumping, or pivoting
