DDRC Special Olympic Swim Team attended the 2026 Denver Metro Regional Meet at the Arvada Aquatics Center last Sunday! 🏊‍♂️

Athletes competed in events from 25-meter freestyle to 50-meter back stroke, bringing home over a dozen blue ribbons, including first place for our women’s relay team! 🏆

We're excited to participate in Jeffco Public Schools - Colorado Parents Encouraging Parents (JPEP) Resource Fair and Conference next Friday, April 24, 2026, at Bear Creek High School!

This event is a fantastic opportunity for families and educators connected to Special Education, 504 Plans, Gifted & Talented, or Twice-Exceptional (2e) services. Our team will be on-site at the resource fair from 8:00 AM – 1:25 PM to answer your questions, share information, and provide helpful takeaways about DDRC services.

In addition to the resource fair, JPEP is offering presentation sessions focused on school services and insights relevant to the communities they serve. We would love for you to stop by the DDRC table, say hello, and connect with other local providers in the area. We look forward to seeing you there!

At DDRC, we believe fulfilling work is a vital part of life’s journey! 🧡

Our Employment Services team helps individuals explore what’s possible through career exploration, job coaching, and firsthand looks at different industries.

Recently, Dogtopia of Wheat Ridge opened its doors to our participants for a business tour. While everyone enjoyed seeing the grooming stations and play areas, the experience sparked something special for Mel. With encouragement from her DDRC job coach, Sean, Mel rolled up her sleeves and volunteered for some hands-on dog bathing. Guided by the Dogtopia staff, she helped keep the pups calm and clean—and realized just how much she enjoyed the work. Afterward, Mel shared that she is now officially interested in pursuing a career in pet care!

Recently, DDRC’s Executive Management, Senior Management, and their teams spent the day diving deep into how each program area is advancing our strategic plan, goals, and objectives. The sessions were packed with data, progress updates, activities, achievements, challenges, and forward‑looking plans.

What really brought the day to life were the creative and often downright fun presentations that helped everyone gain a clearer picture of each department, the programs they lead, and the unique character of the teams behind them. A full day of insight, collaboration, and energy — truly a great session all around! 🤝🌟

The 2026 DDRC Golf Tournament is hitting the open road, and you’re invited to join the ride! 🚗 🛣️

This year, we’re bringing a classic road trip vibe to the beautiful Hiwan Golf Club on Monday, August 10. Every swing helps raise critical funds for DDRC’s programs. Last year we raised over $70k—and this year, we’re looking to blow past that milestone with your help!

Our Direct Care staff deserve to be celebrated, and this week we made sure they felt it! 🎉❤️

Meghan Horihan put together thoughtful gift bags for our residential team, while our day program, employment services, and support staff enjoyed a delicious bagel spread as a small token of our gratitude! 🥯

Their dedication and compassion make an incredible difference for the individuals we serve, and we’re happy to honor all that our terrific teams do!
