As we wrapped up our final day at the NACHC Conference, we’re proud of the meaningful conversations and connections made on behalf of our patients and community.

Our CEO, CMO, and two of our Board Members spent the week collaborating with fellow leaders from health centers across the country, sharing innovative ideas, and advocating for the future of community health.

On the final day, they attended the keynote session featuring Newt Gingrich, who shared insights on the national policy landscape and the future of healthcare in America. The team also enjoyed celebrating the incredible work of community health centers nationwide at the conference gala, a wonderful evening recognizing impact, partnership, and progress.

They also had the opportunity to meet with the staff from the office of Lauren Boebert and Michael Bennet to discuss the vital role community health centers play in expanding access to affordable, high-quality care. Conversations focused on workforce support, sustainable funding, and ensuring rural communities continue to receive the resources they need.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to represent our patients at the national level and to advocate for policies that strengthen access to care close to home. Thank you to NACHC for hosting such an impactful conference, we’re returning energized and ready to put ideas into action! 💙

📢Important Update: No-Show Policy Effective Immediately📢

At High Plains Community Health Center, our goal is to provide accessible, high-quality care to everyone in Southeast Colorado.

Missed appointments (“No Shows”) lead to wasted resources, longer wait times, and reduced access to care for other patients. They can also delay your own care and impact health outcomes.

Due to increased demand for appointments and a rise in missed visits, we are instituting the following No-Show Policy, effective immediately:

• Arriving more than 10 minutes late and needing to reschedule will be recorded as a No Show.

• Canceling without at least 24 hours’ notice will be recorded as a No Show.

• Missing your appointment without contacting our office will be recorded as a No Show.

• If multiple family members are scheduled in shared or back-to-back appointments and there are No Shows, this may limit the ability to schedule multiple family members at the same time in the future.

• Three (3) No Shows within a 12-month period will result in a restriction on future appointments. Patients will need to call daily to check for available same-day openings, which will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

We understand that unexpected situations happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so we can offer that time to another patient in need.

Thank you for your partnership and understanding as we work together to serve our community. We truly value you! 💙

As we approach this Christmas season, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every member of our community. This time of year reminds us of the importance of kindness, connection, and caring for one another — values that define who we are and guide the work we do every day.
Our community has faced challenges and celebrated triumphs this year, and through it all, your resilience and support have been extraordinary. Whether you visited our facilities, trusted us with your care, partnered with us, cried with us, celebrated with us, or simply encouraged our teams with your words and actions, you have played a vital role in strengthening the health and well‑being of our region.
Healthcare is a partnership, and we are honored to walk alongside you — in moments of joy, in times of uncertainty, and in every step toward better health. Your trust inspires us to continually improve, innovate, and deliver compassionate care to every person who comes through our doors.
As we celebrate Christmas, I hope you find moments of peace, joy, and connection with those you love. May this season bring comfort to those who are struggling, hope to those who are healing, and renewed strength to all of us as we look toward the year ahead.
On behalf of High Plains Community Health Center, our employees and our Board of Directors, THANK YOU for allowing us to serve you. We are proud to be part of this community and deeply grateful for the privilege of caring for you.
Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas and a healthy, hopeful New Year.
