I'll go first!
I know everyone says this one, but not to sweat the little things and to let go of trying to control every little thing. If I had had a better hold on this, I doubt I would have struggled with so much anxiety in the little years. I'm definitely not perfect but have learned so much since those first years!

What's yours? Share in the comments, & hopefully this can help some first time mamas 🫶🤗🤍

Many people working in obstetric units in hospitals have never seen an unmedicated, uninterrupted birth.

"There is a phase in labor, appropriately called transition, where a woman will meet her breaking point. She’ll feel as though she just can’t go on, and she is right. The maiden in her is not strong enough for the task at hand. It’s during this time the maiden dies so that the woman can be reborn as a mother, with her child. A new, more capable version of herself with far more strength than she has ever known.
From Maiden to Mother.
When we birth we birth twice.
Once for us and once for our child."

Hot take.

Some of the things modern mothers are praised for…

would have been considered signs of a struggling household 100 years ago.

Exhausted all the time.
Doing everything alone.
No extended family around.
Children spending most of their childhood inside institutions.

But today we call that…

✨ a good mom who is doing it all.

What if the problem isn’t mothers?

What if the problem is that we’ve normalized raising children without the structures that make motherhood sustainable?

You’re not failing.

You’re doing a job that was never meant to be done alone.
