๐ŸŒฟ Join us at .medicine 's Connections in Women's Health Conference November 22nd! We will be speaking about the silent strain of women's burnout on your health and vitality. If you're someone who has suffered silently through PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, perimenopause, menopause, or a hormonal health concern, this workshop will feature OBGYNs, pelvic floor therapists, and other health professionals presentations for you.

๐ŸŒฟ No hormonal health diagnoses? Please still join us. We see women everyday that are crushed by the weight of perfectionism and anxiety of trying to do everything and be everything for everyone. Guess what? You can't have it all. The good news? There are strategies to help you prioritize the parts of you and your life that are most important WITHOUT chronic stress and anxiety. (It might involve caring a little less about what society thinks & getting in touch with what you really want๐Ÿ˜‰).

๐ŸŒฟ Remembering that the first Pride was a riot, not just a party. Holding the tension for the progress that's been made and the ongoing threat to the LGBTQA+ community, particularly under authoritarian politics. Recognizing that rainbow washing and corporate greed has made it incredibly commercialized to support the Q***r community for the month of June while inhibiting progress silently in the background. Acknowledging access to healthcare continues to grow more limited in 2025 for trans folks and humans across the gender diversity spectrum. Knowing that the LGBTQA community is more likely to face barriers to mental health care and has been historically traumatized by the mental health industrial complex....all while facing high rates of depression, anxiety, and even suicidal ideation.

๐ŸŒฟ We will continue to strive to provide a welcoming and calming space for all, but specifically for those have histories of struggling to find spaces that see who they are without pathologizing or spiritualizing their identities and world views. We have been providing affirming care at Rooted Lancaster LLC since our beginning in 2020. Prior to Rooted, we have worked with the whole spectrum of identities from central PA to NYC, and we are specifically educated on human sexuality, intersectionality, and diversity of identities for now over 15 years.

๐ŸŒฟ Affirming mental healthcare is just a piece of progress. Those who are white, cisgender, straight passing, with financial privilege need to use their energy to advocate for continued legal protections, services, and policies that support that everyone exist safety in our communities. ๐ŸŒฑ We know this week has been stressful for so many. A few weeks ago, we attended a conference for therapists, and we were reminded that the basics are BACK. In fact, they never left. Quality sleep, mindfulness, physical movement, and reducing time on screens are the foundation for regulating our nervous system and reducing stress.

๐ŸŒฑ While 30 mins of daily movement is the recommendation, can you start with a 10 minute walk? Can you do a 3 minute mindfulness from Insight Timer (our personal favorite)? Can you read a book before bedtime instead of scrolling? These little habits add up!

๐ŸŒฑ It's never a bad time to get in touch with a therapist to start regularly focusing on your self care. We can help with stress management routines and problem solving how to manage the ongoing stressors in your life. You don't need to have experienced a trauma or crisis to reach out. We love empowering people to engage in preventive mental health care. ๐ŸŒฑ When men and young boys don't have spaces and cultural role models that portray healthy masculinity, they can find community in regressive groups that perpetuate dominance seeking and violence. Boys and men suffer from depression and anxiety as well as struggle with social connections. We know that healthy male role models and emotionally safe fathers have many associated positive outcomes. You don't have to emotionally suffer just because you're a male.

๐ŸŒฑ There's a lot we can do! If you're a parent, pay attention to your kid. Teens especially need parents to actively parent even when their emotional state is less than enthusiastic. Our young people's brains are not developed. They need guidance on developing critical thinking and emotional regulation skills. A parent can only take their child as far as they've explored themselves.

๐ŸŒฑ Adult men! What are you doing to learn about yourself and how your brain works? What pain are you ignoring? What relationships are you avoiding tending to? What feelings are you drinking, smoking, or working to avoid? Therapy is for guys, too, and we will be here when you're ready to take the leap.

We need men in our communities who aren't afraid to do the emotional work more now than ever. This is a call to show up.
