Position Summary
A private family in Manheim, Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Household Manager to maintain and manage their home. This role is primarily focused on maintaining an immaculate living environment while also supporting the household with light organizational duties and occasional pet care. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, exercises discretion, and approaches each task with thoroughness and care.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping (70% of Role)
• Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors throughout the home
• Dusting all shelves, furniture, and surfaces
• Cleaning bathrooms, including toilets, tubs/showers, and floors
• Cleaning kitchen surfaces, countertops, and appliances
• Dishes – loading/unloading the dishwasher and handwashing as needed
• Laundry – washing, drying, ironing, and folding
• Making beds and changing sheets and towels regularly
• Taking out trash and recycling
House Maintenance (20% of Role)
Kitchen:
◦ Wiping exterior of cabinets
◦ Organizing kitchen cabinets and cleaning interiors
◦ Cleaning oven and refrigerator, disposing of expired items
Living Areas:
◦ Wiping baseboards and changing lightbulbs
◦ Decluttering, organizing, and cleaning vents (dusting and washing as needed)
◦ Cleaning rugs and interior windows
◦ Rotating deep cleaning and sanitizing of all rooms
Exterior:
◦ Washing porches and patios, including the pool house
◦ Cleaning outdoor furniture
◦ Gardening, weeding, and mulching
Seasonal:
◦ Holiday decorating, including packing and unpacking seasonal items
◦ Scheduling and supervising home maintenance vendors (HVAC, elevator, etc.)
Organizing (10% of Role)
• Managing incoming packages – breaking down and disposing of cardboard, dropping off returns at the post office
• Maintaining inventory of household supplies
• Decluttering items and disposing of them appropriately
• Creating and implementing organizational systems for current items in the home
Pet Care
• Taking dogs outside for regular bathroom breaks
• Ensuring the safety of dogs by maintaining a secure yard perimeter (keeping gates closed)
• Refilling water bowls and washing dog dishes
• Laundering dogs’ bedding and cleaning crates as needed
• Occasional cleaning of indoor dog accidents and picking up dog excrement in the yard
Food Preparation (Rare / Not Required)
• Light food preparation – cleaning and chopping ingredients
• Preparing meals that can be cooked or heated at a later time
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience
Hours: 25–32 hours per week
• Guaranteed hours and pay
• 5 days paid vacation

• Mileage reimbursement for all job-related driving
Requirements
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Professional, modest attire required while on duty
• Avoidance of strong fragrances or perfumes
• Minimal personal telephone use; no loud conversations while working
• Must possess a clean driving record
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must sign and strictly adhere to a non-disclosure agreement; absolute discretion and respect for family privacy is expected at all times
