Did you know that November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month? We are sharing some crucial and important information that we hope serves you well, incase you weren’t aware… 🙌🏼

Diabetic eye disease is the leading cause of blindness 😳, often with no early warning signs. However, ☝🏼 early detection, timely treatment, and appropriate follow-up care are the only ways to help prevent vision loss.

Diabetic eye disease is a term for many eye problems that can be a result of diabetes. If you are at risk for diabetes, you are also at risk for diabetes-related eye disease and vision loss, but the good news is — a comprehensive eye exam can help catch any eye health issues 👏🏼

It might surprise you that around 20% of people first learn they have diabetes as a result of a comprehensive eye exam. Our goal is to share, empower, encourage, and help spread the word about diabetic eye disease this month and always 💛

Here at OO, we are proud to use the latest technology to detect and treat eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts early and effectively.

For glaucoma, we have advanced imaging and pressure-monitoring tools that let us spot changes before vision is lost.

For cataracts, laser-assisted surgery and modern lens implants allow for faster recovery and clearer vision—often without glasses.

Our goal is simple: to use the most precise and comfortable treatments available to protect your sight for years to come 💛

…raise your hand if you’re doing this! ✋🏼

Digital eye breaks are crucial for maintaining healthy vision and overall eye comfort, especially if you spend long hours looking at screens. Here’s why they matter:

1️⃣ Prevents eye strain: Breaks let your eyes rest, reducing fatigue, headaches, and blurred vision.

2️⃣ Reduces dryness: Looking away helps you blink more and keep your eyes moist.

3️⃣ Relaxes focus: Shifting your gaze helps eye muscles recover from constant near focus.

4️⃣ Improves posture: Eye breaks remind you to sit up straight and ease neck tension.

5️⃣ Protects long-term comfort: Regular breaks prevent chronic eye stress and discomfort.

Tip: Follow the 20-20-20 rule — every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds 👏🏼
