Happy New Year from Team Atlas! 💪🏾
We love the "January Energy" in the gym, but did you know that this month actually sees some of the highest rates of exercise-related injuries? It’s tempting to go from 0 to 100 on day one, but your muscles, joints, and tendons often need a moment to catch up to your ambition.
To keep your momentum going all the way through December, keep these three "S" rules in mind:
💪🏾Start Slow: If you haven't lifted or run in a few months, start at 50–60% of your maximum effort.
🧘Specific Warm-ups: Static stretching is okay, but dynamic movements (like lunges or arm circles) prepare your nervous system for the work ahead.
💆♂️Sleep & Recovery: Muscles grow while you rest, not while you’re working out! Don't skip your rest days.
