December is a time of both celebration and quiet reflection. While the season brings joy, it can also stir memories of those we have loved and lost. During these moments, grief and remembrance often walk hand in hand. We are here to support families through every step, offering care, understanding, and a compassionate presence as you honor the lives of those who hold a special place in your heart.

As we prepare for our Holiday Remembrance Program, we take this time to place names on each snowflake ornament, honoring and holding close the families we have been privileged to serve this year. Each name represents a life remembered, a love cherished, and a story that will always remain in our hearts. This Saturday, December 6, we welcome all families to join us in a gentle gathering of reflection, comfort, and remembrance — a space to celebrate and honor the precious lives of those we hold dear.

Proudly Serving Area Families

Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory encompasses over 130 years of family and traditions. The Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster began as Goble & Son in 1882 and in 1956 was purchased by John and Margaret O'Rourke. In 1986, the O'Rourke funeral home was purchased by Terrence A. Schwartz. He and his partner, Gregory R. Martin, consolidated the funeral homes into Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory, in 2001.

In 2016 our new Facility, Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster opened. We now have our own on site crematory. We currently have the largest funeral home chapel and parking lot in Grant County. In addition, our gathering room can accommodate catered funeral dinners.
