Some people think today is unlucky… but I’ve always thought the opposite.

The number 13 has always been lucky for me — I even wore #13 during my high school hockey and lacrosse days! 🏒🥍

I’ve never believed in “unlucky” days. I believe in turning things around, choosing a positive mindset, and creating your own luck.

So today feels like a lucky day to me. 🍀

Honoring the Vision of Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee

Standing beside this portrait reminds me that Shaklee didn’t begin as a business idea… it began as a mission.

Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee was a chiropractor, inventor, and early pioneer in natural health. In 1915 — long before “wellness” became mainstream — he developed the first multivitamin in the United States, called Vitalized Minerals.

His belief was simple yet revolutionary for the time:
🌿 The body has an innate ability to heal when properly nourished.
🌿 Nature provides powerful solutions for health.
🌿 Prevention is wiser than treatment.

Dr. Shaklee was inspired by watching patients struggle with poor nutrition and environmental stressors. He believed that supporting the body at a cellular level — with clean, science-based, natural nutrition — could change lives.

And that vision still guides the company today.

For me personally, this is more than history. My mom, Anna, began her Shaklee business during my teen years because she believed in proactive health for our family. That legacy continues — not just as products, but as a philosophy of living well, caring for the planet, and helping others build healthier lives.

Over 100 years later, the mission remains the same:

This morning I had the privilege of attending the Professional Women’s Forum hosted by the Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by M&T Bank.

Three incredible women bravely shared their personal and professional journeys — stories filled with struggle, unexpected hardship, pivots, perseverance, and ultimately… resilience.

What struck me most wasn’t just their success — it was the courage it took to keep going when the path wasn’t easy.

Each speaker reminded us:
• Confidence is often built in the middle of challenge
• Growth rarely happens without discomfort
• Resilience is forged through adversity

Behind every successful woman is a story of obstacles she refused to let define her.
