Happy Halloween from Lancaster Health Services! We had a blast during our visit from Maple Street Kids Daycare, Inc. and Preschool for trick-or-treating. Residents loved seeing the little kids all dressed up for the holiday and they even recited Halloween poems. 🎃

Residents and staff enjoyed dressing up too! We had witches, a cowgirl, a cute crab, a pirate, a hot dog with a chef, a disco lady, a black cat, and a Purple People Eater. 👨‍🍳☠🌭

Items can be dropped off at the center in disposable containers or individually wrapped the mornings of November 13 and November 14. All bake sale proceeds support our Resident Council to fund entertainment activities for residents.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a global campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer, increase screenings, and provide critical support for patients and survivors. 🩷🎗️

For National Mammography Day on October 17th, residents and staff wore pink in support of those we know and love who have been affected by breast cancer, and to recognize the importance of routine screenings, like mammograms, to help with early detection.

Misty and her family are abundantly appreciative of the donations. Misty's fight isn't over, but her courage and positivity are an inspiration that many could stand to learn from. With a road of uncertainty ahead, Misty shared that the most important things to her and what keeps her so strong is her family; husband Brian, their two children, and her mother.

It's apple season at Lancaster Health Services! 🍎

Residents worked on peeling, slicing, and coring apples with our quick and easy hand crank machines. Once the apples were ready, it was time to taste! Residents enjoyed sliced apples with caramel dip, while the activity director pressed previously prepared apples into fresh apple juice.

After some research, our groups had discovered that if you freeze and then thaw your apples after they have been prepared, they will yield more juice. The groups decided to try this out and got almost three quarts of fresh apple juice to enjoy. 😋

We had a great turn out for this year's Oktoberfest!

A huge thank you goes to Potosi Brewing Company for the donation of their deliciously bottled root beer! It paired well with our brats, sauerkraut, soft pretzel bite, and various mustards. Residents say "Prost" to another year of laughter and gathering together for good food and fun.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for a holly jolly good time! 🗓

We are excited to host our Annual Winter Warm-up Craft Haul from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Nov. 14th. This free event is open to the public and is a great chance to get some holiday shopping done early! 🎁❄️

Vendor spaces are $20 and still available. Vendors must bring their own tables and can set up as early as 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Crafters of all kinds are welcome! Please contact Erin, preferably through email, to register.

The event will be held Nov. 14 at Lancaster Health Services. We are still looking for vendors! The deadline to reserve your spot is Nov. 11 and the fee is $20. Great opportunity to showcase your crafts and meet members of our community!
