‼️Coaches Spotlight: Febes Wood‼️

If you’ve spent any time at CFC, you already know: Febes is the heartbeat of this place. She leads from the front with humility, consistency, and a genuine care for every single athlete who walks through our doors. What most people don’t see is the amount of work she pours in behind the scenes — new memberships, marketing, scheduling, the tough calls, the hard conversations… all of the things that keep an affiliate running at a high level. She carries it with strength and grace, and CFC wouldn’t be what it is without her.

Over the past few years, we’ve also watched her grow tremendously as an athlete. She’s a prime example of what it looks like to show up, put in the work, and evolve.

We’re grateful for her leadership, her resilience, and the passion she pours into our community every single day.

What made you start CrossFit? Josh 😉

Biggest impact CrossFit has had on you? How I view my body, my confidence, and relationships - the community is the best!

Favorite movement: I like anything OH!! Squat, Sn**ch. But a good Handstand Walk 😳 it’s hard to pick! If I’m good at it, I like it 😂

Least favorite movement: Handstand push-ups!! Same rule applies! If I’m terrible at them, I don’t like it 😂

Favorite thing about coaching at CFC: The people and the energy!!

Advice to new members/ new to CrossFit: Be consistent, just keep showing up. Let yourself embrace all of it, the skills, the workouts, the people. You won’t regret it.

Time to celebrate with family and friends. While this season is filled with joy, it can also present challenges when it comes to staying mindful with nutrition.

How can we enjoy the festivities without gaining excess weight or overconsuming sugar?🍪

✅Below are five tips to help you stay on track✅

1️⃣ Prioritize protein and vegetables during meals to maintain satiety and manage cravings.

2️⃣ Follow the one-plate rule: Choose the foods you enjoy, but begin with protein and vegetables before adding your favorite items.

3️⃣ Hydrate intentionally—drink water first rather than relying on cocktails or sugary beverages.

4️⃣ Plan your indulgences: Reserve treats for the ones you truly enjoy rather than consuming them at every gathering.

5️⃣ Avoid skipping meals: Maintain your normal eating routine to prevent overeating later in the day.

With a balanced approach, you can fully enjoy the holiday season while continuing to support your health and fitness goals💪🏻

🔥 CINDY’S BREAKTHROUGH MOMENT TODAY 🔥

This morning during my class we took on the benchmark WOD “Kelly.”

For anyone unfamiliar, Kelly is a gritty, full-body stamina test:

5 Rounds For Time:
🏃‍♂️ 400m Run
📦 30 Box Jumps
🏐 30 Wall Balls

It’s long, tough, and demands a lot of mental and physical grit.

Before we started, I challenged everyone to attempt some version of a box jump instead of instantly scaling to step-ups. Not for the score — but for the growth.

Cindy came in ready. She started by jumping onto two 45lb plates, which was already a win. But watching her in those first two rounds, I knew she had more in her. I knew she was capable of hitting a 15” box jump.

So I brought a box over, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with her, held her hand for assurance, and promised I wouldn’t let her fall.

For a few minutes she tried… hesitated… tried again… battling the mental side of the movement.

And then — after coaching, patience, and courage — she went for it.
And she nailed it.

She hit a few more reps with me by her side, and then finished the final 3 rounds on her own, strong and confident.

THIS is what CrossFit Collective is all about:
