The CrossFit Open is a worldwide competition designed for everyone from first-timers to seasoned athletes. It’s a three-week test of your fitness, your grit, and your willingness to step outside your comfort zone.

Each week, a new workout is released. You give it your best effort. You log your score. You see where you stack up.. not just in our gym, but across the world.

Why do we warm up here at CrossFit Collective?

Mobility work helps improve joint range of motion so you can hit better positions in squats, presses, pulls, etc🏋️

Activation drills wake up key muscle groups like glutes, core, and shoulders so the right muscles are doing the work during the WOD✅

Gradual movement prep raises heart rate, increases blood flow, and primes the nervous system for performance! This is why we do a primer

Skipping these steps can lead to incorrect movement patterns, reduced power output, and higher injury risk

Tim is the kind of coach every athlete hopes for and every community needs. His positivity is infectious, his commitment is unmatched, and his heart for our people runs deep. What made you start CrossFit? I was looking for something to start taking my physical fitness more seriously. I had lots of desire to be stronger, faster, healthier - without any action. After giving CrossFit a try I knew it would provide the much needed structure and intentionality to set me on the path I was seeking. From there the first step was to show up and commit to the process.

Biggest impact CrossFit has had on you? CrossFit can be a training ground for other areas of life. Grinding through a workout, learning new skills, and doing hard things has unlocked unrealized and unreached potential and capacity for me both physically and mentally.

Favorite movement: Bar Muscle Up

Least favorite movement: Thrusters

Favorite thing about coaching at CFC: Being a witness to the transformation others experience and encouraging and challenge others on the journey.

Advice to new members / new to CrossFit: The first rule is to just show up. Getting started is never easy but there is a plan to follow, coaches providing instruction, and a community to grow with together. Give it a try, you may discover along the way it’s also a ton of fun!

Fun fact: As a kid you’d often find me on the monkey bars or doing cartwheels instead of homework. CrossFit is an outlet for my inner gymnast and learning these skills is one of my favorite parts about CrossFit. It turns out the CrossFit box is just the big kids playground.
