The holidays bring all the foods, the traditions, the family favorites, and the dishes everyone looks forward to. And if you’re wanting to feel a little better this season, it truly starts with the ingredients you keep on hand.
Here are a few easy Thanksgiving pantry swaps that make a big difference without changing the recipe:
🦃Chicken broth → Bone broth or organic broth
👉Rich in minerals, more flavor, and supports digestion.
🦃Boxed potatoes → Homemade mashed potatoes
👉Simple whole-food ingredients, no additives.
🦃Canned cranberry sauce → Homemade cranberry sauce
👉Less sugar, more antioxidants, and tastes so much fresher.
🦃Cornstarch → Tapioca or arrowroot starch
👉Gentler on digestion and perfect for thickening pies, gravies, and sauces.
🦃Seed oils (canola, vegetable oil, Crisco) → Tallow, lard, grass-fed butter, coconut oil, or ghee
👉Stable fats that support hormones and inflammation balance.
🦃Brown sugar → Coconut sugar or 100% pure maple syrup
👉Less of the blood sugar spike, less processed but still gives that cozy flavor.
And because what’s Thanksgiving without dessert…
We added our favorite pumpkin pie recipe.
It’s simple, cozy, and the perfect way to bring a little nourishment into a holiday classic. 🤎🥧
