🫂The Being Needed Wound🫂

For some people, being needed became the way to stay connected.

Helping, fixing, and anticipating others’ needs not because it felt good, but because it felt necessary.

When love or safety once depended on what you could provide,it’s easy to grow into an adult who feels most secure when others rely on you.

This wound can sound like:

“If I stop showing up, I’ll lose my place.”
“My value comes from being useful.”
“I don’t know who I am when I’m not helping.”

Over time, this can lead to exhaustion, resentment, or feeling invisible in your own life.

Healing is not about caring less.

It is about learning that you are worthy of connection even when you are resting, unsure, or in need yourself.

In therapy, we explore where this pattern began and gently support new ways of relating that include choice, balance, and mutual care.

Connecting With the Snow ❄️

Snow has a way of quieting the world. Sounds soften movements slow and the landscape becomes still. Our nervous system often longs for that same gentleness.

Instead of pushing against the pause try letting the snow guide you.

🤍Grounding Practice🤍

Sit near a window and watch how the snow falls. Notice its rhythm its softness its patience. Let your breath follow slow steady and unforced.

As the snow settles outside allow yourself to settle inside. You do not need to be productive today. You need to be present.

At Intuitive Healing & Wellness, our mission has always been to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for both our staff and the clients we serve. That mission begins with our owner, Melinda Holley, whose passion and purpose shaped the foundation of our practice.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Melinda specializes in complex trauma, adolescent mental health, and deep restorative healing work. Her approach blends clinical expertise with holistic modalities such as somatic release breathwork, sound healing, and EMDR therapy to support the mind, body, and nervous system.

✨Boundaries ✨

Boundaries are not about controlling the behavior of others. They are about protecting our own peace. 🌿

A boundary is something we choose to hold, regardless of how others respond. It is our way of saying, “This is what I need to stay emotionally well.” 💛

People may not always like or follow the boundaries we set, and that is okay. The purpose is not to change them. It is to support ourselves.

Here are a few supportive tips for practicing healthy boundaries:

• Start with self-awareness. Notice what feels uncomfortable, overwhelming, or intrusive. That is often where a boundary is needed. 🧠

• Keep your language simple. Clear statements like “I can’t commit to that right now” or “I need to step away” help you communicate without overexplaining. 🗣️

• Honor your limits even when others don’t. You can’t control their reactions, but you can choose how you show up. 🧘‍♀️

• Practice saying no without apology. “No” is a complete sentence and an act of self-respect. 🚫💛

• Give yourself permission to change your mind. As you grow, your boundaries can grow with you. 🌱
