🫂The Being Needed Wound🫂
For some people, being needed became the way to stay connected.
Helping, fixing, and anticipating others’ needs not because it felt good, but because it felt necessary.
When love or safety once depended on what you could provide,it’s easy to grow into an adult who feels most secure when others rely on you.
This wound can sound like:
“If I stop showing up, I’ll lose my place.”
“My value comes from being useful.”
“I don’t know who I am when I’m not helping.”
Over time, this can lead to exhaustion, resentment, or feeling invisible in your own life.
Healing is not about caring less.
It is about learning that you are worthy of connection even when you are resting, unsure, or in need yourself.
In therapy, we explore where this pattern began and gently support new ways of relating that include choice, balance, and mutual care.
