Taking care of your family is so important to us as a society, and yet sometimes we impose our own standards and beliefs about what others should do with their physical and emotional health. We don’t mean to harm them; on the contrary, we only want them to be as healthy and happy as we are. Yet we also ignore their right to be as they are. Children and teens get less of a say because it’s our responsibility to make wise decisions for them until they can make mature decisions, but we should also respect their choices to the extent that is healthy and reasonable. What are your thoughts?
