National Sunglasses Day is Thursday, June 27. This day is all about the importance of wearing shades to protect your eyes from the sun’s harsh ultraviolet (UV) rays. Stop by for our 40% off sale.

Did you know that sunglasses were “invented” by the Eskimos 2,000 years ago. They were made from animal bone, leather and wood with small slits to effectively shield their eyes from the blinding glare reflected off the snow.

FEBRUARY IS AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION AWARENESS MONTH
AMD is a common eye disease that can blur your central vision. Unfortunately, sometimes aging causes damage to the macula - the part of the eye that controls sharp, straight-ahead vision. The macula is part of the retina (the light sensitive tissue at the back of the eye). AMD doesn’t cause complete blindness, but losing your central vision can make it harder to see faces, read, drive or do close up work. Peripheral vision is usually not affected.
