How cool is this?! A 2000 foot long, unmanned floating boom that will start cleaning up the giant plastic soup - 2 times the size of Texas - floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Hats off to the guy that is leading this initiative. He thought of this project about 9 years ago, when he was only 16 years old!

Organizers hope a 2,000-foot-long unmanned boom will collect 150,000 pounds of plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in a year.
