Thank you for your participation first responders! Our county is fortunate to have these committed individuals working to keep us all safe.

Thank you to the Fairfield County ADAMH Board and Fairfield Medical Center for hosting Crisis Intervention Team training this week. Lancaster Police officers joined other law enforcement professionals from across the area to continue strengthening their skills in responding to individuals experiencing a crisis.

CIT training plays an important role in helping officers use communication, de escalation techniques, and community resources to safely resolve challenging situations. While standard CIT training consists of 40 hours of instruction, this advanced course provided additional tools, practical exercises, and scenario based training to further enhance those skills.

We appreciate our community partners for their continued collaboration and commitment to providing meaningful training opportunities that benefit both first responders and the residents we serve.
