Story time:
On March 16th, 2014 I sat in my grandparents living room, agonizing over mistakes I made on the practice test to acquire my license.
I carried a 4.0 average in nearly every course in massage therapy school. It came naturally to me, it made sense, and I soaked up everything I could.
The MBLEx (Massage and Bodyworking License Exam) was the last hurdle. The man who would eventually become my husband sat with me and gave very clear instructions: Stop dissecting. Stop practicing. You know it. Go to sleep.
My Nana and Opa gave me the biggest hugs the morning of the 17th and I drove from their place to the test center. A dreary little place with cubicles for privacy. I had 3 hours. I answered everything I could, then went back over. I ultimately spent 90 minutes before I knew that if I went over it again I'd likely sabotage myself with second guesses.
Exhale, hit confirm, and when I walked into the lobby where the woman at the desk told me I passed.
I stared at the score.
Fast forward:
Today I drove to that same business park to do a chair massage event. They asked me to extend their contract to monthly for the rest of the year.
I decided to take myself to lunch and cried the whole way there.
12 years is a long time, but it's never too late.
The circle is complete and I can't wait to see what's next.
