Please be overly cautious when you are contacted with a request for personal information.

The Lander Police Department has received reports of scammers targeting local residents by posing as Medicare representatives.

Please remember:
Medicare will NEVER call you out of the blue to ask for your Medicare number, Social Security number, date of birth, or banking information.

Don't Trust Caller ID: Scammers can "spoof" numbers to make it look like the call is coming from a government agency or a local (307) number.

What to do:
If you receive a suspicious call, HANG UP immediately. Do not press any buttons or provide any information.

If you or a loved one has already shared information, please contact the Wyoming Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) or report it to 1-800-MEDICARE. Let's keep our seniors safe, Lander! 🛡️
