Karen Sue Brown

Karen Sue Brown (Berry), 68-year-old Afton resident, was peacefully called home on February 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 31, 1958, in Loveland, Colorado to Carl and Patty (Turner) Berry. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Gary Brown on June 23, 2003, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they shared many years of traveling for anniversaries, celebrating their kids and grandkids, and creating treasured memories.

Karen grew up in Picher with her three siblings and attended Picher Schools. She was a creative soul who liked playing on her computer, loved her dogs, kids, and grandkids with unconditional love. Karen was also known as a shy, quiet, and kind person.

Karen is survived by her husband, Gary, of the home; daughters, Erin Bricker, Amber Lynch and husband Lucas, Andrea Davis and husband Danny and son by marriage Zack Brown; grandchildren, Caryn Bennett, Sierra and Annabeth Lynch, Erin, Destiny and Brooklyn Lima, Kai and Kross Davis, and MaKalyn and Tinley Brown; and her three siblings.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Sixkiller Cemetery in Afton with Chaplain Dan Weiser officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemoriesvinita.com or on the funeral home page. Arrangements are in the care of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. “Family owned. Locally operated.”

Some love stays with us forever.
And what we’ve shared deeply can never be lost, it becomes part of who we are.

If you’re missing someone today, may their memory bring you comfort in quiet ways.

Have a happy Valentine's Day!

For many, winter can bring a heavier emotional weight, especially for those carrying grief. The season slows us down, sometimes more than we’d like. Even so, some strength is built in stillness.

You may hear the terms viewing and visitation used interchangeably, but they can serve different purposes.
A viewing is typically a quiet time to pay respects in person, while a visitation is often a more open opportunity for family and friends to gather and offer support.
Both are meaningful in their own way.

January is National Get Organized Month.

A new year is a natural time to take stock of important details and put things in order. Taking time to organize now can make things easier for the people you love later.
