This is my favorite, what's yours?

Water is crucial for things like bringing nutrients to cells, getting rid of wastes, protecting joints and organs, and maintaining body temperature.

Water needs vary person to person, but a great starting off point is 8 cups of fluid per day, at least 4 of which should be water.

And tea counts as water!

So if drinking or multi helps increase your water intake then by all means enjoy.

Do you know what these are?

Take a guess on items #1- #4

#4 would NOT fit the recommendations, but it can be included in a healthy diet if you have most other items without added sugar.

Added sugar can be linked to weight gain, diabetes, inflammation, heart disease and liver disease.

Join the challenge and take a guess on what the labels belong to!

Comment with your guess or APRIL for the calendar of challenges, one per day!

I LOVE frozen fruit and veggies.

Frozen fruit: goes great in
🍌Smoothies
πŸ₯ Popsicles
🍍 Yogurt
πŸ‘ Oatmeal
Also makes a great syrup or jelly πŸ“

Frozen veggies can be tossed right in the microwave, air fryer, or oven for a quick side dish.

I love adding frozen corn or edamame to my salad I'm packing in the morning- defrosted by lunch!

Do you get enough potassium??

The recommended intake is 3400 mg for men and 2600 mg for women.

Most adults do not meet those recommendations

But there are tons of fruits and vegetables that can add potassium to your diet.

Try some like dried apricots, bananas, orange juice or any of the foods listed above.

That baked potato was my lunch today. What food would you pick to add potassium to your diet?

If you want to join the April Wellness challenge you still have time. We are doing an easy habit each day that you can choose to try or save it for later pick one or try them all.
Comments APRIL and will send you the calendar so you can join.

Today we switched up our bread!

Trying new foods is a great way to bump up your nutrition.

It also keeps things interesting and is a great conversation starter with kids!

Whole grains come with more fiber, vitamins, and minerals than their refined counterparts, so start experimenting.

I actually really like chickpea pasta. It is a little more expensive, so I'll snag it when it's on sale!

What whole grains have you discovered recently?

Are you doing the challenge?

Each day in April we have a little tip to help you improve, or be consistent with your health and wellness.

Today is movement!

Physical activity doesn't have to be a 30 minute run. It can be any activity that gets your heart rate a little. And you need 150 minutes each week.

You can spread it out or just do it all in 1 day.

We have a self propelled mower that takes a bit of muscle and effort to move, and after I mow the whole yard I walk over 3 miles. It counts!

Try raking, sweeping, scrubbing, wedding, mulching, whatever!!! It completes a chore and helps you stay healthy!

You don't have to decide between physical activity and chores, 2 birds 1 stone!

And you don't have to do this challenge today, do it tomorrow or next week! Tag us in a pic when you do!

If you need the calendar comment CALENDAR and we'll send it right to you! It's never too late to join.

Vitamin C is crucial for our immune system and wound healing, and there are so many foods other than an orange that contains 100% or more of your daily recommended intake.

BONUS: having a source of vitamin C when you have iron in your food or supplement helps with absorption!!!

So, what color pepper has the most vitamin c, red, orange, or green?

And if you want to join the challenge, comment challenge and I'll send you the calendar, each day has an easy tip to help your health, from food, to mindful eating, to movement.

April challenge!!!! Are you in!

Everyday this month we give you something to try. Try 1 or all 30!

Day 3 was to try 3 different color foods at one meal. Not only does that change the variety of nutrients you get, it also makes it more palatable. More colors = more interesting = more enjoyable.

Show us what you did!!! Post a pic, tag us in it! Whatever!

And if you need the calendar, comment CALENDAR and I'll send it right to you!!! Never too late to join!!
